Trick and Fancy Riding

Back in the early days of Trick and Fancy Riding, American cowboys and cowgirls competed for prize money at rodeos and wild west shows performing death defying stunts off the backs of galloping horses. Trick riding is no longer a competitive sport in present times. Today, trick riders thrill audiences throughout the world flipping, vaulting and hanging off of their horses as entertainment at rodeos, fairs, and private events. Tricks from the past are still being perfected today as well as new tricks invented by trick riding craftsmen!

Jan Mendoza started this website in 2006 when Trick Riding was almost dead.  Only a handful of trick riders were performing worldwide at that time. was the first of it’s kind to have all the information anyone needed who wished to learn to trick ride.

What People are Saying!

“It isn’t often that you can view a video about a sport you know little or nothing about and, by the end of it, you want to do it! Jan Mendoza’s interviews and instructions are top drawer in my opinion. She is single-handed putting Trick Riding back on the map, where it belongs. You, like me, will watch it over and over.”

 Janell Kotsch, Colorado

“Jan, Just a note to thank you for the DVD on Trick Riding.  I thought you did a real good job on it,  and should inspire others to want to trick ride. Rex Rossi would have been very pleased!”
